Forum: etree Subject: Possible for user to change a single track and rederive?

Hi,
First off, thanks to all the great staff on LMA... it makes uploading here easy and pleasant, thanks!

Now, I've been wondering if there's a way to change just a single (or few) tracks in a LMA concert, and then have it rederive properly. I've tried it and it doesn't seem to work. I've searched this topic as well, and it seems that it's not possible, meaning we have to delete all files (except xml) via ftp, re-up all the files, and then re-derive them.

Just want to confirm that we do indeed need to replace *all* files and re-derive *all* files in order to change any of the original flacs that were uploaded. It's not a big deal, just want to make sure there isn't an easier way to do it. Thanks!

You can delete the few flacs that you want to replace and ALL mp3, m3u, zip and ogg files.

Replace just the flac files that need to change and a new fingerprint for the new group of files.

When the system rederives, it'll remake all the lossy files and you'll be good.

Thanks to both for the info! I have in the past tried deleting and replacing just certain flac files and all the derivative files (mp3, off, etc) as well as the zip, m3u, and other files. But never thought to replace the ffp with a new one, although I did upload a new md5 file. Well, I'll give it try now, thanks again!

edit: success! deleted ALL the derivative files and replaced the flac files that I wanted to change and upped new ffp and md5 files and then hit "derive" and all seems to be well. thanks guys for the help!

i think you have to upload only one track and a fingerprint for all tracks. if you have old version of your items on your computer, just replace one file, fingerprint them all and try reuploading.
